Places Please!

Saturday, November 12 at 8pm.

We’re going to do a reading of a radio play version of our future web-series, which will introduce the characters and world of “Season 13” at Seattle’s Eclectic Theater on Saturday, November 12th at 8pm. It’s free and there will be a brief post-reading discussion afterwords, where we hope to get your feedback.

We’re developing a web-series that lovers of the theater will love! A comedy series about the daily (and nightly) horrors that confront a hard-working stage manager as he struggles to keep a theater and its company from flying apart, financially, emotionally and artistically! A theater that is also haunted by a company of actors that perished in a tragic fire decades earlier!

Well, if “doing theatre” was easy, everybody would be doing it!
Anyway, lots to do before “Season 13” becomes a real web-series in 2017 or ’18, so follow and talk with us on our Facebook page as we make it happen!

See you at Eclectic Theater on Saturday, November 12th!

Seattle Local Diversity Committee Presents: Know Your Rights: A Discussion About Race in Our Industry Today – What Every Member Should Know to Empower and Protect Themselves in the Broadcast and Entertainment Industry

Start: 11/13/2016 – 6:00pm
End: 11/13/2016 – 8:00pm

A career in the entertainment or broadcast industry can be unbelievably rewarding. It can also be an incredibly frustrating mix of discrimination and lack of opportunity. Let’s talk about racism.

We invite new, experienced, and pre-union members to a discussion about racism with a panel of professionals including long time civil rights activist and guest Bill Fletcher Jr, Casting Director Nike Imoru and more panelists TBA. Moderated by Actor Owen Yen.

How do we build an inclusive, non-discriminatory industry? During this discussion, we will talk about the business today through the lens of those on the panel and in the room. We will also cover what union members are doing to ensure their rights in the workplace today and in the future.  Please join us. We want you to be part of the discussion.

All are welcome to attend.  This is our inaugural diversity seminar. Each seminar will have a specialized focus to address the unique challenges facing a particular population of SAG-AFTRA members.

When: 6 – 8 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 13

Where: Eclectic Theater
1214 10th Ave
Seattle, WA 98122
