This is Our Youth is a living snapshot of the moment between adolescence and adulthood when many young people first go out into the world on their own, armed only with the ideas and techniques they developed as teenagers. Ideas and techniques far more sophisticated than their parents ever realize, and far less effectual then the characters themselves can possibly imagine.

Past Curfew: A Festival of One Acts

July 17th, 18th, and 19th at 7pm. Tickets are available at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/1887981

Long Ago and Far Away by David Ives directed by HwaYoun Kang

A young, married, yuppie couple, about to move out of their NYC apartment, get swept up in a bizarre scenario filled with time travel and switched identities as they explore the nature of reality and their existence in the past, present, and future on a fateful winter evening.

Childhood by Thorton Wilder directed by Travis Frank

This provocative, sometimes chilling comedy, Wilder renders a child’s-eye view of the grown-up world, as a father, a mother, and their three children play a revealing game of make-believe in which their children pretend to be orphans. This play blurs the lines between perception and reality, artifice and innocence.

The Love Talker by Jamie Jordan directed by Rey Zane.

The Love Talker is an eerie and sensual play — set in an age when strange spirits walked the earth and magic was all around. The story is the follows the relationship between adolescence Gowdie and her older sister Bun. When Gowdie falls under the influence of the Love Talker, the two of them find themselves locked in a battle of love, jeasouly and magic. The Love Talker seems to have emanated from the darkest reaches of the Grimms’ fairy tales.
