Othello
William Shakespeare‘s tragedy of jealousy and revenge. Thu-Sat at 8pm and Sun at 2pm. April 26-May 26.
Othello, a celebrated general, yet an outsider, defies social convention and marries Desdemona, a Venetian aristocrat. Enter Othello’s most trusted lieutenant, the honest Iago, who nurses a vengeful hate for his commander. As Iago draws Othello and the audience into a spider web of half-truths, scandal is fueled families and friendships destroyed until a trifle light as air tragically unravels them all.
With poetry rivaling King Lear and with the psychological depth of Hamlet, Shakespeare constructs a highly charged tale of prejudice, revenge, and the destruction of innocence.
Content Advisory: Suitable for teens and adults, Othello contains onstage violence and sexual innuendo. Concerned parents and theater-goers may want to contact the Box Office for more information.
